We are very pleased to invite you to participate in the GLOBE Annual Partner Meeting and Professional Development Workshop. GLOBE Annual Meetings bring together GLOBE Country Coordinators and US Partnership Coordinators, Science and Education Principal Investigators, as well as Partnering Organizations from around the world to address key science and education elements of GLOBE.
These events offer a unique opportunity for participants to learn about the latest scientific research and other developments in the program, interact with GLOBE community members and scientists who are using GLOBE data in their own research, and open dialogues with top educators on effective methods to enhance the GLOBE educational process in the classroom.
Become a GLOBE teacher
Teachers who attend will be certified by GLOBE as a GLOBE Teacher. This is the first GLOBE conference/AGM that is inviting classroom teachers to attend and the first time that teachers who attend will leave as a GLOBE Teacher.
Get Canadian Space Agency funding to attend
The Canadian Space Agency is willing to provide funding for Canadian educators/teachers to attend this meeting. It will be on a first-come-first-served basis with applicant selection based on an applicant's explanation how their attendance will enhance Canadian youth awareness of the Canadian Space Program and their participation in science and technology related to the space industry.
The CloudSat Satellite Mission, a joint venture between the Canadian Space Agency and NASA, is contributing significant funding to this event in order to increase Earth from Space Education. An introduction and background on CloudSat will be covered on Sunday, August 1st followed by 4 full sessions on Monday, August 2nd.
Information regarding the Canadian Space Agency's "Space Awareness and Learning Grants Program" can be found at www.asc-csa.gc.ca/eng/educators/grants/grants_prog.asp.
